DAY 01: ARRIVE GUWAHATI
Arrive at Guwahati airport. leave for the capital city of Meghalaya- Shillong, fondly known as the Scotland of the East. On the way to Shillong we will stop at the Umiam Lake, which is located just 15 km before to the capital city of Meghalaya. The crystal clear blue lake is about 220 sq km in radius and surrounded by the beautiful hillocks. The lake also represents the scenic beauty of the state which you will be going to explore here in next few days. During summer period the Lake looked lush and vibrant adorned by Gulmohar trees (Delonix regia) in full blossom. The Lake commonly known as Barapani is the best place for picnics and outings. If you are travelling with kinds, then adjoining the Nehru Park will be perfect place for them to spend few thrilling hrs enjoying a motorboat rides and other activities. Overnight stay at Shillong.
DAY 02: EXCURSION TO DAWKI & MAWLYNNONG
This morning proceeds for Dawki(120Km/3hrs) near Bangladesh border and Mawlynnong (90km/2hrs. approx), this little colourful village is known for its cleanliness. Explore the Root Bridge, Sky Walk and Natural Balancing Rock. Back to Shillong. Evening free for leisure. Overnight stay at Shillong.
DAY 03: JOWAI SIGHTSEEING
After breakfast proceed for whole day excursion of Jowai, visit Nartiang Monoliths, Durga Temple, Tyrshi Falls, Umlawan cave, Thlumuwi Stone Bridge, Thadlaskein Lake, Krang Suri Falls (as you start approaching the waterfall the first view of the waterfall will take your breath away), Then move back to Shillong.
Overnight stay at Shillong.
DAY 04: EXCURSION to CHERRAPUNJI
Today drive to Cherrapunji (65km/1-2 hrs. approx) – the wettest place on the earth. Cherrapunjee, officially known as Sohra, is 56 kms from Shillong, and a “must see” destination for all tourists. It also known the wettest place in the earth with a record rainfall. Cherrapunjee was the headquarters of the Khasi & Jaintia province during British rule before shifting to Shillong in 1864 and this was due to the inconvenience caused by excessive rain during the monsoon months. En-routevisit Elephant Falls & Shillong Peak at Shillong. At Cherrapunji visit Mawsmai Cave, Seven Sister Falls & Nohkalikai Falls. Overnight stay at Shillong.
DAY 05: SHILLONG SIGHTSEEING
After breakfast enjoy local sightseeing tour of Shillong, ‘Scotland of the East’. We will be visiting Cathedral Church, Lady Hydari Park, the Orchidarium, Elephant Falls 7 the Golf course. Thereafter, we will drive to the shilling peak to enjoy a splendid view of Shillong. Overnight stay at the hotel in Shillong.
DAY 0:6 SHILLONG to GUWAHATI TRANSFER
After breakfast check out from hotel & then transfer to hotel in Guwahati. After some rest visit Shankardeva Kalakshetra– a cultural centre with a fine exposition of the life and culture of the people of Assam and Balaji Temple. Evening takes an evening cruise (Own cost & arrangement) on the mighty river Brahmaputra as per availability of time.
DAY 07: KAMAKHYA TEMPLE VISIT : GUWAHATI AIRPORT DROP
In the morning visit Kamakhya Temple. Then drive back to hotel, have breakfast & check out, then drive to Guwahati airport for drop.
